FAGBASH Installations
Since 2008, the underground party FAGBASH brings top-tier dance music and high camp to Provincetown summers. Each week’s theme evokes bizarre queer juxtapositions, inspiring those attending to compile fabulous “looqs,” commonly using trash, thrift store detritus, and other found materials. The ethos of the this event has colored my values as an artist, empowering my identity both as a queer person and also as part of the Provincetown community.
From 2016-2018 I built “pool table installations” for this iconic summer party. They were comprised primarily of found objects, a few lights, leftover party decor, and a mildewy box of fabrics. Every week was a unique challenge in making something out of nothing.
