Dick Pics
Excerpt from Artist’s Statement from “Dick Pics” at E. Lesh Gallery, Provincetown (2022):
”For all it’s omnipresent power, the Penis has become commodified and oddly secularized in our oversexed digital age. Beyond that, the violence wrought by centuries of systemic patriarchy has taken us far from the ideal of the Sacred Masculine. It is through this ongoing series that I seek to recapture my adolescent fascination with this formidable lifelong inspiration. I aim to portray a loving reverence for the Holy Phallus through painstaking detail and the celebration of each subject’s unique character. These organs are extensions of ourselves, quite literally. They are sacred objects, magic wands, whose primary function is to spread the seed of life far and wide into the Universe. I honor this life-affirming power through my art.”
